Fire Science

Are you interested in helping others in need, saving lives and property?  The Associate in Science Degree program in Fire Science will prepare you for a professional career or enhance your skills if you are already in this field.  You’ll be challenged to function as a team member and test your abilities at the Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex, one of the nation’s top fire training facilities. You can save time and money by earning your degree, EMT certification and firefighting certification all in two years.

You can choose the Fire Basic Recruit Academy to meet the minimum educational requirements for a certified combat firefighter in the State of Florida. The program meets Monday through Friday for 12 to 15 weeks.

  • A.S. Degree — Gain management and technical skills in many high-demand career fields, with the option to continue toward a Bachelor’s degree at IRSC.
