Are you a compassionate, caring person?

Are you a compassionate, caring person who enjoys physical activity and helping others? Do you have a healthy lifestyle and gain satisfaction from encouraging others to pursue a similar lifestyle? If you answered yes, to either question, then a career as a Physical Therapist Assistant maybe for you.

The two-year Associate of Science Physical Therapist Assistant program (PTA) at Indian River State College will prepare you to provide best practices in rehabilitation with a solid, evidence-based educational foundation. Physical Therapist Assistants provide a wide range of physical rehabilitation services to a variety of patients/clients in a number of different settings under the supervision of a physical therapist. These services help to prevent or limit disability by relieving pain, improving mobility, restoring function, and preventing secondary complications from injuries or chronic diseases/conditions. Whether you are interested in helping patients across the lifespan or specializing in treatment of a particular population, physical therapy offers you the satisfaction of helping to return patients and their families to their former health and activities at home, work, school or play.
