Electronics Engineering Technology


Electronics engineering technology is the foundation on which all modern technologies are built on. Any technology field that claims to be advanced or high-tech relies on electronic components and circuitry. Lasers, fiber-optics, robotics, automation, wireless networks, biomedical equipment, space exploration, and industrial processing are cutting-edge technologies made possible by electronic technology.

The demand for technicians in these fields is at an all-time high because of the large number of baby-boomers retiring and industries expanding into these advanced and profitable technologies. Starting salaries for entry-level technicians in any of these fields are higher than the national average. The Electronics Engineering Technology degree offers specialization options in lasers and photonics, robotics and industrial automation, computer technology, fiber optics, and telecommunications.

The Electronics Engineering Technology department of IRSC has been at the forefront of the most advanced modern technologies. The National Science Foundation (NSF) recognizing this fact awarded IRSC a grant to establish LASER-TEC, the Regional Center of Excellence in Lasers and Fiber Optics, covering eight southeast states.

Laser-Photonics; Robotics-Manufacturing; Solar Energy; Tele-Communications; Biomedical Electronics; Computer Support Technology.

These certificates offer quick training for someone who wants to enter the workforce in a short amount of time. They take 2 to 10 months to complete.
