  • Q)  Is New Student Orientation mandatory?
    Yes. New Student Orientation is a mandatory admission requirement for all first time in college students seeking a degree, and new transfer students.
  • Q)  What is the difference between face-to-face and online orientation?
    Face-to-Face orientation is a live, interactive session that you will attend on the campus of your choice on the date of your choice. Plan to attend the entire session in order to receive credit for attending. Partial attendance and arriving late will not count as completion for the face-to-face session.

    Online orientation is an online class through Blackboard that is made up of a series of video modules and a final exam.
  • Q)  What can I expect at face-to-face orientation?
    New Student Orientation sessions are designed to provide you with tools that will enable you to succeed at IRSC. Orientation sessions are interactive, fun and full of information. Enthusiastic staff members from various departments participate in orientation to present their area of expertise.
  • Q)  How long is orientation?
    Online: can take up to 2 hours
    Face-to-Face: up to 5.5 hours
  • Q)  What if I do not attend orientation?
    If you do not attend your scheduled orientation, you can select a different session/date to attend or complete orientation online. If you do not complete orientation, you will not be able to register for classes at IRSC.
  • Q)  Do I need to bring anything with me?
    Student should bring Photo ID.
  • Q)  When and where is orientation offered?
    Orientation is offered on every IRSC campus at various times and days to accommodate our students. Please see the orientation calendar on the right for upcoming sessions.
  • Q)  When should I attend orientation?
    The sooner you attend orientation, the better. Orientation is an admission requirement so you will need to have this complete before you are able to register for classes.
  • Q)  Is orientation free?
    Yes. Orientation is a free.
