TEACH Grant Program

TEACH Grant

Congress created the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program to provide grants of up to $4,000 per year to students who will commit to teach in designated high need fields in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.

The new TEACH grant program was introduced at IRSC beginning with the Fall 2008. Students need to contact the Financial Aid Office to complete an internal application to be considered for this grant. IRSC students determined to be eligible by the Financial Aid Office will be contacted.

To be considered, students must:

  • File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Complete an IRSC internal application.
  • Compete an Agreement To Serve (ATS) on the TEACH website.
  • Complete Entrance Counseling
  • Meet other TEACH Criteria (see internal application).
